And So It Begins. . .

And so, the journey has begun. Tonight / this morning at midnight, I started typing. Two hours later I had reached 2,055 words. I am so excited! There are definitely some rough spots in what I've written so far but already a few surprises as well.

Writing is such an amazing process; to sit at the keyboard and create a world that did not exist until that moment. To have characters begin to take on shape and personality and flesh where there was none before.

Although I did get past the 2,000 word mark before allowing myself to edit, I couldn't quit for the night before doing just a bit of spit and polish. I have not yet learned to tune out the evil internal editor; of course, I've never been in a situation where the goal is quantity not quality so it's going to take some getting used to.

So, it's now almost 4:00 am and I will hate myself in a couple of hours when I have to get up and get moving but for now I'm happy dancing in my chair. Come dance with me :)
