Ok, so Day Eleven isn't over but I'm very happy at the moment so I'm updating anyway.
I made the decision to not write yesterday. I had worked all day, I wasn't feeling well, I had a bit of a block about what scene needed to be written next, and - well, I just needed a day off.
I watched TV with daughter, read a bit, then stumbled across a very funny BritCom on YouTube - The IT Crowd. I watched three episodes which were hysterical then made it to be at 2 am.
As of last night, my word count was still 15,239; the official goal for Day Ten is 16,666 so I was about 1,400 words short.
I got up this morning at 7 and by the time the rest of the family had woken up, my word count was up to 19,026. Yeah!!
Since changing the POV of the story, the words are really coming out almost effortlessly and the scenes are now 10-12 pages long instead of the previous 2 or 3 pages. There is still a lot of fleshing out that will need to be done in the revision stage but so much more is happening in the story now.
I would really like to reach the 20k mark before the end of the day but I also have a mountain of laundry to conquer so we'll see how it goes.
It's still 50k or bust :)
